On 12/15/07 at approx. 10:30am the Western Taney Co. Fire Protection District responded to a residential structure fire at 385 Split Rock Dr., Emerald Point. Upon arrival firefighters found smoke and flames showing from 2 stories of a 3 story residential structure. Crews were able to knock some flames down around the front entrance with large diameter hand lines and make entry into the structure. Once inside crews were able to stop the spread of the fire. The fire went to two alarms bringing 30 firefighters from 8 Western Taney Co. stations to the scene. It took firefighters approx. 1 hour to bring the fire under control. No one was home at the time of the fire and there were no injuries. Cause of the fire is undetermined at this time and is under investigation by the State Fire Marshall's Office.
