Branson's water rates are far less than surrounding districts. One of the reasons is that it's subsidized by tourism taxes. A five year plan is in motion and passed a first reading at Branson's last city council meeting. Developer Dan Ruda asked alderman to review the ratios feeling proposed rate ratios provided an undue and unfair burden towards commercial entities. Alderman Bob McDowell promised to review current rates with Ruda's input in mind.
