The caucuses have begun.

Taking a look at the last poll by PPP. The wildcard here is Michelle Bachman. President Barack Obama has been hitting the ground hard in Iowa campaigning for the general election which may indicate why the poll indicates 28% of Iowans said they weren't sure or someone besides the main contenders were running the strongest campaign in Iowa. Voters rated Ron Paul as running the strongest Iowa campaign with 22% agreeing. In second, Michelle Bachman with 19% agreeing she is running the strongest campaign. Every other candidate ranked in the single digits.

Michelle Bachman ranked 7% from Iowans when asked who has the best chance of beating Barack Obama which may be why she hasn't received any momentum since the Iowa straw poll where she briefly broke to the front of the pack only to dissapear from frontrunner status  since August 2011.

Iowa Caucuses Pollster Spreads 2011 - 2012---------
The Republican Presidential Race officially begins this evening as Iowan's will participate in the first caucuses tonight at 7 PM at polling stations throughout the state.

Polls taken over the last week indicate a high level of indecision teetering between 40 to 45 percent of caucus goers remaining undecided.

Latest Poll by PPP Candidate Choice by Demographics \
The Republican nomination process has been a roller coaster with each contender seeming to have his/her moment in the sun. The grid posted above shows the demographic spread of each candidate by gender age group and race extracted from the most recent poll of Iowan candidates. Former Massachusetts Governor Mitt Romney is the most likely to take a hit due to severe weather as the favored candidate for older Iowans. Current weather in Iowa is averaging in the teens.

Here's the last few polling results of Iowan's likely to attend the caucuses.
