As predicted, Raeanne Presley launched her re-election campaign today using city resources funneled to a private e-mail account. As posted earlier this week, Presley has been using a private e-mail address to steal city communications resources for her private ventures which include promotion and marketing for her favorite Democratic candidates.
The City of Branson has denied Missouri standards regarding open government and the Sunshine law claiming a re-route of communications to a private address prevents the press from access to the tax payer funded database.
Branson Documentary In Development - 417 Magazine Reports
Gregory Holman recently posted an article in 417 magazine regarding a documentary about Branson.
Full Story
“Two talented friends are spending the summer in Branson working on a documentary,” Chilton wrote, “and based on their subject matter and something I thought I remember reading about your family, I thought they might be a good fit? The film is about two sides of Branson: the stereotypical show-loving USA and God-loving folk, and then those who live in Branson but don’t necessarily fit that mold.”

Branson Mayoral Race - Dec 16th Filing Begins
Branson's mayoral position will be up for grabs again with filing beginning December 16th.
An objective look at political favors and cash flow exiting the city seems to reveal a re-election bid by Presley before moving on to another position at the state level. Clearly, political favors and cash rewards to entities outside of Branson indicate Presley is using her position as a stepping stone - or rather stepping on the Branson economy to further her political career (you can bookmark this one).
Why else would a politico flow cash to entities far from contributing taxpayers responsibility and far from the benefit of the city she's managing ?
Demographics show Presley performs well with older women with a high school education and below.
Meanwhile, at city hall, Raeanne Presley has tightened up on revealing documents in a semi-successful battle against open government and the Sunshine Law (not yet challenged in court). This appeals to the old-school Branson leadership who once ruled with a mafia style approach and Presley's successful restoration of a monolithic leadership structure designed to decrease worker wages to the benefit of an old-school watch with a kung-fu grip on tax dollars. There is millions of dollars at stake and a conscious effort to send higher paying jobs outside of the county.
Ironically, Presley's target market is the most harmed by the implementation of her fiscal policy. While Taney County is the third highest in state revenue it's also ranks as the third highest poverty rate in Missouri and a few beneficiaries like it that way. The Branson Chamber of Commerce fought hard to block a minimum wage increase when the issue came up on the state value a couple years ago. Presley has taken an additional $30,000 from Branson's budget to finance and support the "almost private" (they take millions in tax funds) to support the Branson Chamber political agenda.
Presley's solution - socialist style housing. The effective code word for this strategy is "Work Force Housing". Though beneficial if it involves federal and state funding, Presley isn't that patient and is moving to take millions in loans to initiate housing projects at local taxpayers expense. These socialist style housing projects generally raise demand for law enforcement as "Section 8" housing is historically synonymous with higher crime and decreased property values for nearby neighborhoods.
In Branson newspaper men make special deals with politicians. Tn an open meeting, pretendo journalist Gary G. successfully asked for the completion of a road near his newly purchased home. The writer gave some nice cookies in the form of news articles and is a main player in the coverup of Branson's money drain promoting tax increases several times running.
Is Presley beatable? It'll be hard enough and possibly dangerous for a political contender, particularly if database resources from the city continue to be laundered to her political campaign.
Branson Finance Numbers Coming out - Editorial
New data regarding Branson's finances will come out this week. Branson sales tax over the year 12 month rolling funds will reveal overall city income is at an all time high and though Branson may be somewhat recession proof it's certainly not Raeanne Presley proof, though the coverup is impressive. The sycophantic worship of Presley by time-share scamster Gary Godless is always a fine read.
I'm impressed. It's simply amazing how irresponsible government can be counteracted with an effective misinformation campaign. As one local news director proclaimed, "In Public Relations you eventually have to lie."
The shell game involved firing everyone in the finance department and nearly everyone at city hall with an IQ over 120. Word to city employees who want to keep their jobs, "Play Dumb".
The total money drain to the Taney County health department still hasn't been properly tabulated and Presley's million dollar witch hunt to find corruption with the past administration still remains fruitless though millions in favors to Presley's political partners is subsidized by the success of the Branson Landing - the very project Presley was elected to "clean up". It's sort of like hiring Stalin to clean up Lenin's mess - the solution creating far more problems than the original issue.
There's a lesson to learn here and it involves show business. While Presley plays Kirby Van Birch with city finances, personality plays a role. When a "financially involved" press plays Bambi all types of illusions can be pulled off effectively.
In a recent New York Times article Presley promoted balanced budgets. The article made me so happy I almost cried. Then I saw the city numbers and the sincere lack of integrity Branson city leaders have been demonstrating and I did cry.
Speaking of outright dishonesty, Presley's promise to "restore open government" is the biggest illusion of the current administration. Branson's Mayor Presley has found a whole new way to introduce "closed door government" - funneling e-mail to a private address. Her personal e-mail address has been printed on city stationary and a direct link from the City of Branson website. Sunshine requests for these documents have been repeatedly denied since the takeover by Sandra "the leak" Williams who collaborated with Gary G. to overthrow the leadership of former administrator Terry Dody- a boss she truly hated.
Sometimes in politics, personality trumps practicality. Dody wasn't good at passing out warm fuzzy's rather looking at his job as improving city income. On the flip, Preslsy's very good at "show business" but lacking in common sense fiscal management and responsibility, unless the purpose of Branson's government is to increase funding for Skaggs Hospital and draining city savings - in which case, she's a great leader.

Branson Missouri Government Sunshine Law Boycott Enters Day 45
Branson Missouri's current administration marks the most corrupt government body the city has yet to experience with laundering activities at an all time high.
$5,000,000 Unaccounted for with new and exciting reasons why such is so. That's just the cash. Hard assets have been liquidated at an unknown sum - after 10 meetings and hours of research I still can't calculate the amount of value transferred to the Taney County Health Department. Vehicles, if memory serves me correctly were reduced to $1 a piece.
Branson's leaders have every reason to hide - and hide they are. This post marks the 45th day Branson City Leaders have chosen to deny Sunshine Law requests videotaped as they were drafted at city hall. One includes a request for complaints to the Branson Police Department.

Branson Missouri's Jolie Justus Leads Gay Marriage Rights Rally in Kansas City
Branson native Jolie Justus spoke to a crowd of 500 this weekend in downtown Kansas City in opposition to Proposition 8, a ballot proposal in California that defined - or in this case - redefined marriage to exclude same sex couples.
Same gender couples flocked to California earlier this year where 16,000 gay marriages were performed before voters overturned a judicial decision that opened the gates for same-sex couples to marry. California law remains gender neutral on matters relating to domestic partnerships.
Proposition 8 squeaked by with 51 percent of Californians and 70 percent of black voters supporting the initiative which limited marriage to "one man and one woman." The initiative sparked passion throughout the states where record sums of money were dumped into both sides of the campaign. The California Teachers association dropped a cool million supporting the right for gays to marry while the Mormon church voiced strong opposition to same-sex marriage after the president (also known to members as a prophet) released a manifesto on marriage which mobilized church members in support of the proposition alongside evangelicals prior to the election.
Mormon churches and temples have been the target of protests since the proposition passed. Interestingly, Justus's district sits in Jackson County, Missouri where the Mormon church was founded. According to Mormon lore the saints promise to return to Jackson County where more liberal sects are currently dominant.
The largest offshoot of the Mormon Church - or rather church founder Joseph Smith - is the Community of Christ, formerly known as the Reorganized Church of Jesus Christ of Later Day Saints (RLDS). Some believe the Community of Christ may embrace gay membership in the near future. Several years ago the organization began ordaining female pastors after the Community of Christ Doctrine and Covenants Chap. 156 commanded congregations to accept women priesthood holders. The move by Community of Christ leadership caused a rift among Community of Christ members and several conservative congregations broke away from central leadership.
Midtown Kansas City is known for tolerant attitudes towards gay couples as neighborhood churches embracing gay members is more of a norm than an exception.
During a series of interviews with Jolie Justus before her freshman session in the Missouri Senate we spoke about growing up in Branson and how that affected her attitudes or acceptance of her own migration from a heterosexual marriage to a committed relationship with a female. Justus didn't seem to hold any resentment or acknowledge experiencing homophobic attitudes that stunted her development. Still, when Justus became the first "outed lesbian" Missouri Senator many Branson residents were unaware of her orientation - including some family members.
Justus has earned the respect of her colleagues and maintains positive report from legislators on her own merit as a Senator - a Senator who happens to be gay.
Branson Passes Deficit Budget Despite Increase in Tax Revenue
Despite modest decreases in Branson's highly subsidized theater industry sales tax is at an all time high.
While Branson's income has increased spending is at an all time high. As a result, the city has moved from several years of savings to a serious deficit which has been reported on this website for over a year.
The facts have taken some time to come to light; however, the Branson Daily News ran the story of Branson's 12 million dollar surplus moving to a $6 million dollar deficit in one year....
****
It's with no pleasure that I post this story; but, it is nice to be vindicated after having the unfortunate responsibility of reporting Branson's city administration's fiscal mismanagement and taking heavy fire for it. But, I'd rather Branson practice fiscal responsibility and the philosophy of balanced budgets spoken but not practiced.

Oliver North in Branson
Branson, MO (Vocus) October 2, 2008 -- Lt. Col. Oliver North (USMC-ret) will be featured as the keynote speaker at the 233rd Marine Corps Birthday Ball, a celebration of the Founding of the United States Marine Corps.
The event, which is open to the public, will take place on November 10, 2008 at Branson, Missouri's stately Chateau on the Lake Resort Spa and Convention Center. The Marine Corps Birthday Ball will highlight Branson's Veterans Homecoming, a week-long festival widely touted as America's largest event honoring the nation's veterans.
The evening's agenda will include the Marine Corps Birthday Ceremony, Lt. Col. North's keynote address, dinner and dancing. During the time-honored ceremony, a sword is used to cut the birthday cake as a reminder that through time, Marine Corps members are 'a band of warriors, committed to carrying the sword so that our nation may live in peace.'
Rob Dixon, a Branson area Marine Corps Veteran shared "The Birthday Ball really is a big deal to members of the Corps. My favorite USMC birthday was Nov. 10, 2001. A few days before I went into Afghanistan, my friends and I had a small birthday ceremony in a room on a Pakistani Air Force Base. We used a piece of cake from our MRE (meals ready to eat) combat rations and held our own cake cutting ceremony. I'll never forget it." Dixon, whose parents and brother are also members of the Marine Corps stated "Lt. Col. North is a highly esteemed member of the Corps. I wouldn't miss this event for anything!"
The Marine Corps was founded on November 10, 1775 at Tuns Tavern in Philadelphia, and from that day forward, November 10 has been the high point of the Marine Corps calendar year. The birthday is celebrated wherever one or more Marines are stationed; aboard a ship, on bases and posts of other service branches, or in theaters of conflict across the world.
Keynote speaker Lt. Col. Oliver L. North (USMC-ret) is a combat decorated Marine, a #1 bestselling author of novels and true-life stories, the founder of a small business which manufactures protective body armor for law enforcement officers, an inventor with three U.S. patents, a syndicated columnist, and the host of 'War Stories' on the FOX News Channel. His bio claims however, that his most important accomplishment is 'being the husband of one and the father of four.'
Lt. Col. North also helped establish the Freedom Alliance, a foundation which provides scholarships for the sons and daughters of service members killed in action.
Branson to Host Capitol Christmas Tree
BRANSON WELCOMES OUR NATION'S CAPITOL CHRISTMAS TREE (City of Branson Official Release)
For the first time, our nation’s official Christmas tree will make an appearance in Branson, arriving on Saturday, Nov. 15, for public viewing in front of the Grand Palace.
At 11 a.m., there will be a 30-minute, star-filled, patriotic and Christmas musical presentation. "Mr. Christmas” Andy Williams will emcee and The Spirit of Christmas dancers, The Lennon Sisters, Pierce Arrow, Bob Anderson, SIX and the cast of Celebrate America will perform.
The 138-year-old sub-Alpine Fir — or Rocky Mountain Fir — left Montana’s Bitterroot National Forest on Nov. 4. It was about 100 feet tall when felled, and 77 feet will be transported.
They rejected some more perfect tree specimens because of their environmentally sensitive positions along creek banks. An elder of the local Salish Indian tribe blessed the tree at a ceremony attended by more than 600 people.
According to US Forest Service representatives, the elder said the tree has a greater calling now, to bring joy to many people. On the 3,100-mile trip, the caravan will stop in 18 Montana cities and three in North Dakota before arriving in Branson, where it will be parked in front of the Grand Palace on Saturday, November 15.
The crew of 13 people who accompany the tree will stay in Branson on Sunday, visiting local attractions. The tree on its 95-foot trailer will be housed overnight inside the Branson Convention Center.
The tree is kept fresh with a rubber “vase” on the cut end with a ready supply of water. Asking a national forest to provide “the people’s tree,” as the Capitol Christmas Tree is often called, is a tradition that started in 1970. Each year since then, a different national forest, and the state in which the forest is located, is asked to provide the tree, and all of the trimmings, as a gift to our nation.
The tree will be officially lit in front of the U.S. Capitol on Dec. 2.

Branson Coverage Continuing Monday - Political Brief
There are some great election stories and no greater than those found within the results at the polls. The raw information is reported below and after a brief hiatus analysis and follow up on the elections will continue.
Meanwhile, Branson's budget shortfall - as predicted would be a major issue due to liberal fiscal policies enacted by the Branson's City Administration has finally come to light toppling over as this year's budget is being approved with a whopping 1.4 million dollar projected deficit - actual spending will be much higher than the city is letting on.
At the state level, legislators met in Jefferson City where Governor Elect Jay Nixon revealed campaign promises could be put on hold due to Missouri's 2008 budget shortfalls. A Republican majority promises a fiesty 2009 session.

Branson City Hall - Reponse to threats and "Special Procedures"
Reporting on corruption at Branson City Hall has come at a high cost; recently Branson City Manager Dean Kruithof sent correspondence dated August 25th setting "special rules" for access to City Hall. This is one of several actions Branson officials have made in an effort to intimidate "the Branson Blogger" from covering city business.
